Step 6: Buy With AWS

This section provides the integration snippet your engineering team needs to handle the purchase flow.

When a customer subscribes to your product on AWS Marketplace, AWS sends a POST request to your Registration URL containing an x-amzn-marketplace-token. Your backend must:

Receive the token at your Fulfillment URL (HTTPS required)

Exchange it using the ResolveCustomer API within 1 hour (tokens expire)

Provision the customer's account

Step 7: Automatically Provisioning Subscription

Toggle this setting to enable or disable automatic subscription provisioning.

On: When a customer subscribes, your system automatically provisions their account without manual intervention

Off: Subscriptions require manual approval or provisioning steps on your side

For most SaaS products, automatic provisioning is recommended to reduce friction and improve the buyer experience.
