This is the most important section of the listing. **Pricing decisions have permanent consequences, so read carefully.** :::hint{type="info"} **Key context:** AWS Marketplace requires public pricing, so keep your dimensions generic (platform name, description, baseline per-unit price). Actual commercial terms for specific customers are managed through **Private Offers**, where you can adjust contract dimensions as needed. ::: ### Pricing Mode The section has two tabs at the top: | Mode | Description | When to Use | | ------------ | ---------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------- | | **Basic** | Single contract-based dimension with one price point | Simple products with one tier or package | | **Advanced** | Multiple dimension types with detailed configuration | Products with multiple tiers, usage metering, or hybrid pricing | ### Basic Mode Shows a single **Contract-Based Product** with three fields: | Field | Required | Description | | ----------------------------- | -------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | **Display Name** | Yes | The name shown to buyers (e.g., "Growth Project") | | **Description** | Yes | What this dimension includes (e.g., "This product includes all features, and one unit is expressed in licenses") | | **Contract Pricing per unit** | Yes | Single price in USD | You can add multiple contract-based products using the **Add Contract-Based Product** button. ### Advanced Mode Advanced mode gives you independent toggles for two dimension types. You must enable at least one. ### Contract Dimension When the **Contract Dimension** toggle is enabled, you configure: **1. Purchasing Options** | Option | Description | | ------------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | **Multiple dimensions per contract** | Buyers can purchase their desired quantities of units for each pricing dimension that you define | | **Single dimension per contract** | Buyers can choose from a list of tiered pricing dimensions to purchase their desired tier or volume of units | :::hint{type="danger"} **AWS Marketplace Rule:** Purchasing option cannot be changed after your first subscriber. Choose carefully. ::: **2. Contract Duration** Select which durations to offer: **1 Month**, **12 Months**, **24 Months**, **36 Months**. :::hint{type="danger"} **AWS Marketplace Rule:** All dimensions must use the same contract durations. Changing durations applies to every dimension. ::: **3. Dimension Fields** For each contract dimension, provide: | Field | Required | Description | | ----------------------------- | -------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | **Display Name** | Yes | Customer-facing name (e.g., "Dedicated Project") | | **Description** | Yes | What this dimension measures or includes | | **Contract Pricing per unit** | Yes | Price in USD for each selected duration (e.g., 12 Months Price, 24 Months Price, 36 Months Price) | Use **Add Contract Dimension** to add more dimensions (maximum 24 per product). ### Usage Dimension When the **Usage Dimension** toggle is enabled, you configure pay-as-you-go metering on top of (or instead of) contract pricing. For each usage dimension, provide: | Field | Required | Description | | ------------------------ | -------- | ----------------------------------------- | | **Display Name** | Yes | Customer-facing name for the metered unit | | **Description** | Yes | What is being metered | | **Usage Price per unit** | Yes | Price in USD per unit consumed | Use **Add Usage Dimension** to add more dimensions. ### AWS Marketplace Business Rules These rules are enforced by AWS and cannot be overridden: **Price Changes** :::hint{type="danger"} **Price increases:** Existing subscribers keep their current pricing. AWS requires a **90-day advance notice** period. The new price applies only to new subscribers during this window. All pricing changes are locked for 90 days after a price increase. ::: **Price decreases:** Take effect **immediately** for all subscribers. No waiting period. **Free Products** - If all dimension prices are set to **$0.00**, AWS automatically converts the product to the "Free" pricing model. :::hint{type="danger"} **This is irreversible.** A Free product cannot be converted back to Paid. You would need to create an entirely new product listing. ::: **Contracts** - **Upgrades:** Buyers can upgrade to a higher value or quantity at any time. They receive a prorated credit for their existing contract. - **Downgrades:** Buyers cannot decrease contract value during the term. Downgrades only happen at renewal. - **Cancellations within 48 hours:** AWS automatically issues a full refund for non-private offer subscriptions.
